Smillow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven is teaming up with CPBN for a new, innovative content collaboration on WNPR. Through a creative video piece, Smillow Cancer Hospital provides funding and access to patients and their stories, to deliver compelling content to the CPBN audience.
This new storytelling project, “Survivor Stories” brings cancer home through stories of cancer survivors in Connecticut.
“Survivor Stories” features a series of two-minute stories that were recently recorded at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven during intimate interview sessions. In these sessions, cancer survivors related their personal experiences, seeking to provide inspiration, hope and support, particularly to those newly diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones.
“Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven is proud to partner with WNPR to give our patients a voice to share their personal stories with Connecticut,” said Peter G. Schulam, MD, PhD, Director, Yale Cancer Center and Physician-in-Chief, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven (Interim). “No one faces cancer alone, and each survivor has a unique story to share. I am confident that each story will resonate with WNPR listeners, and inspire strength and hope.”
